BattleTech officially released its latest expansion Heavy Metal. The expansion offers eight new ‘Mechs, each complete with unique equipment. There's also a Flashpoint mini-campaign arriving, as well as eight weapon systems. This latest expansion is available for the PC and priced at $19.99.

The Mech Mortar, for example, is the first AOE weapon in the game and and can destroy multiple units at once. There is also the new COIL Beam which generates more energy the further the attacker travels before firing.
New Flashpoint Mini-Campaign:Meet two legendary characters from BattleTech lore - the Bounty Hunter and the Black Widow of Wolf’s Dragoons. In this mini-campaign, a derelict cargo ship has drifted into the Periphery from deep space. What secrets does it contain, and who gets to control its mysterious payload?
